To say that our wedding simply wouldn’t have happened without Kim & CJ and their team is no understatement. From our first zoom call, we knew that Kim & CJ’s personalities would be a joy to work with, and we weren’t wrong. As we were both medical trainees, they were incredibly flexible and understanding when our work schedules demanded late night Zoom calls after our shifts ended on Saturday nights, and were so tolerant of our sporadic email responses and yet, they were incredibly on top of every. Single. Detail. Every one! From the smallest to the most important, Kim & CJ seamlessly integrated opinions from us & our parents, and communicated and advocated for what we wanted to our vendors. In the initial planing stages, all of their suggestions for potential vendors were incredibly on pointe, which tells us that Kim truly listened to us when she asked us what our vision for our wedding was. Over the past year and a half of planning our events, Kim & CJ slowly started to become not just our wedding planners but friends as well. On top of that, our wedding was a combination of both Indian & Chinese wedding customs spread out over a 3 day holiday weekend, and they seamlessly anticipated every problem before it arose and even had solutions before we knew things were an issue. They were pros when it came to implementing logistics (rentals, decor, rain plans, layouts, sound, only scratches the surface of everything that they took charge of) and also allowed us to feel present & not rushed on the day of, ensuring that we soaked in the moments and felt present with our guests and with each other. At the afterparty, CJ even stepped up to DJ our after party for us when he found out that it was just an aux cord leading the charge on the music. Every call with them was both productive, and also felt like talking to long time friends but in a way that did not take away from the tasks at hand. Our guests raved about how on top it these two and their team were. All in all, I would throw another event just to hire Kim & CJ again. They were a dream to work with and I can’t imagine a more perfect team than VNE.

I don't think it's possible to put into words how incredible VNE is but I will try to in this review!! We started working with Kim & CJ a little more than 1.5 years out from our wedding date. From the first conversation we knew they got it. We had talked about just wanting to throw a really great party for our friends and family and it was so clear from the very beginning that they were going to be able to deliver on that. After we signed on, Kim immediately started connecting us with incredible vendor after vendor. We would have conversations about the vision/what we were hoping the weekend to feel like and she would always have a great suggestion on how to make it happen. The design deck we worked through was so much fun because you could really start to see what the weekend would feel like as we got closer. Kim also always kept us organized/on schedule without making us feel stressed or pressured. It was literally the most fun project I've worked on because I knew I could trust VNE fully to make sure everything was in place. Once we finally got to wedding weekend, my already very high expectations were completely blown out of the water. Kim and her team were absolutely unbelievable. Every single detail was taken care of and my husband & I (and our families/friends!) truly didn't have to think about a thing. When people ask how the weekend was one of the first words that comes to mind is carefree because I literally didn't have to think about a thing besides enjoying. Also, the design of our rehearsal/welcome party & reception was a million times better than I could've imagined -- truly a vision. I would work with Kim and CJ at any venue for any event in the future, but for anyone considering getting married at Glynwood (which is where we did) I actually can't encourage you enough to work with VNE. The team's knowledge of the property is unmatched and that went such a long way for a property as vast, and gorgeous 🙂, as Glynwood is. I could go on for hours about the team but, all's this to say, work with VNE. They are incredible, caring humans who will make any event the most magical, carefree, unforgettable experience.

We cannot express how extremely grateful we are to have had the opportunity to work with Kim and CJ of Venture North on our wedding. They are truly wonderful people who care about the couples they partner with and put everything they have into giving them the best wedding experience possible. Planning a once in a lifetime party for your closest family and friends can be overwhelming, but Kim was there with us every step of the way leading up to our wedding day. She was incredibly organized and on top of every detail. Kim came equipped with materials and checklists in a shared Google Drive that helped guide us through the whole process. We loved our calls with Kim - they were always focused and productive, but also a lot of fun! She was so supportive and organized and we felt we were in great hands. “Kim is the best!” was a constant refrain around our home.
The weekend of our wedding, Kim and CJ were absolutely incredible. They coordinated with all of our vendors, ensuring everything was loaded in and set up smoothly. They worked hand in glove with the awesome staff of our venue, Wylder Windham. We were in awe as it all came together. We felt like we could truly relax and enjoy the weekend with our guests.
Throughout the weekend, Kim and CJ anticipated our every need and paid attention to so many details we weren’t even aware of. They were so invested in giving us and our guests a great experience and we felt their care, attention, and support at every turn.
So many of our guests and other vendors have raved to us about their experience with Kim and CJ. Weddings can be stressful with so many people involved and countless moving parts, but Kim and CJ dealt with everyone they interacted with with care, kindness, professionalism and joy.
We had the most amazing wedding - it lived up to and surpassed our every expectation. We are so grateful to Kim and CJ for making it a reality. By the end of it all, they truly felt like family. If you are considering Venture North for your own wedding, you simply will not find better partners and humans to work with on your big day.

If you want to work with real, down-to-earth, on-top of it all wedding and event planners who will help you execute the perfect event, Kim and CJ are your people! I spent almost a decade working in the wedding industry prior to my own wedding, and it's very easy to tell folks who are part of the "machine" that weddings and the industry can become from folks who truly care about the work and events they produce and want to create something magical for you. Kim and CJ were such awesome partners for us as we planned our wedding and they are the real deal. From handling vendor contracts, to communicating with our venue, scheduling every minute detail of the timeline, organizing family members, and making sure all of our crazy ideas came to fruition, they truly handled it all -- and with such grace, speed, and kindness. Where do I begin... Our wedding was July 3, 2021. My (now) husband and I had started some of the planning on our own around the time the pandemic hit in March 2020. By Summer 2020, I knew the wedding planning would be too much for me to handle, with all the complications and changes that Covid would bring. We were lucky enough to get referred to Kim & CJ of Venture North Events and didn't hesitate to bring them on for Full Planning & Design. They took the lead right away and alleviated all the pressure from the entire process from Day 1. They kept us on track through the whole process & even made it fun. Their true value became evident on the wedding weekend in ways I couldn't have imagined. I never thought my husband and I would have such a relaxing wedding weekend. I just always assumed, because of our personalities (social but don't like to be the center of attention, and also, I'm somewhat of a perfectionist...) that our wedding weekend would be high stress with the pressure of decision making, finalizing details, and dealing with all the logistics of family/venue/schedule etc. With Kim, CJ, and their production assistants on our side, I couldn't have been more wrong. We worried about NOTHING throughout the entire the weekend; mind you - we had three events to which all guests were invited: Friday's welcome party, Day of events, and Sunday After Party BBQ. And rain was in the forecast all weekend. They thought of everything and they were always 2 steps ahead of us. They knew when to include us in decision making and when to make decisions on their own. If anyone in the wedding party so much as looked over their shoulder, a VNE team member was there right away to see if they needed anything. Even our wedding guests couldn't help but notice (and be blown away) by how amazing they were. Hiring the VNE team made our wedding weekend not only beautiful but, more importantly, FUN and RELAXING for my husband and me - and all of our guests who fed off of our energy We can't recommend them enough and wouldn't hesitate encouraging anyone considering a planner to bring these guys on board.

Let me start by saying I didn't once cry during my wedding, but I cried (read: sobbed) saying goodbye to Kim and CJ at the end of my wedding weekend. I couldn't recommend these two enough. We worked with them for about a year leading up to our wedding, but I was *stunned* at all they did during the wedding weekend. They brought our entire vision to life, and I was beyond touched at how much they cared about every detail. The whole wedding day was a breeze -- they set us up with assistants who were incredible, while Kim and CJ made sure everything was running smoothly at our venue. It unexpectedly rained right before our ceremony started, and they pivoted everything without even involving us, so we could stay focused on enjoying the day. Kim is the ULTIMATE problem solver. One of our favorite things about working with Kim and CJ is their creativity. Any idea we threw at them, they thought of ways we could make it happen and never discouraged us. We originally tried to work with the planner who usually works at our venue, but it didn't work out. And I couldn't be more grateful that it worked out the way it did because we found Venture North Events. If I did it over again, Kim and CJ would be the first vendor hire every single time. If you're on the fence about what services to hire them for, I very strongly suggest going for full planning and design. It's worth every single penny and more, I promise. I'm already thinking about events I can plan just so I can work with Kim and CJ again!
